Dr Thomas Nguyen, Periodontist

Dr. Thomas Nguyen is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine at McGill University and was previously the Director of the pre-doctoral program in Periodontology at Harvard University. Dr. Nguyen earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the Université de Montréal. He subsequently completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, a master’s degree in Craniofacial Tissue Engineering at McGill University, and specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Minnesota.

He is a former recipient of the Basil G. Bibby Award, the Dr. E.T. and Mrs. Marjorie Bourke Award, as well as the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics. Dr. Nguyen also received the Nevins Teaching and Clinical Research Fellowship and the AAP Foundation’s Education and Learning Institute Fellowship in 2020.

He is a board-certified specialist in Periodontics and Implant Surgery. Dr. Nguyen is both a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
